Syncing books to Kindle devices and apps | Macworld

Send to Kindle

As well as being a MacBook, iPhone and iPad owner, I also own and love my Kindle. One of the features I really enjoy is the syncing between devices. I will often use my e-ink Kindle during the day, but switch to my iPhone or iPad Kindle app at night (set to white text on a black background) so that I can read in bed with the lights off without disturbing my wife.

One shortcoming with this arrangement is the lack of syncing between devices of books1 not purchased from Amazon—at least that is what I thought until I ran across this article/video from Chris Breen at MacWorld:

  1. For example, Project Gutenberg has a large selection of public domain books in the Kindle format.
